Polaroid SX-70 Arrives

Shaun on Apr 9th 2008

The Hull University Photography Society has been donated a camera.

We are now the proud owners of a Polaroid SX-70!

This camera was first released in 1972 and aimed at high end photographers with a wad.
The film contains a flat battery which power the camera, electronics and flash. A typical flash
would be an external unit containing five single use bulbs.

Many thanks to a certain Rob Miles who allowed me to take this instead of adding it to the rest
of the clutter in his office. I/we hereby donate it to HUPS.

www.hups.org.uk goes live

Shaun on Nov 24th 2007

After the student union mulling it over, we are an official society! Three big cheers for HUPS!

We’ve already had two informal meets and it’s about time we have a formal meet to get a few things sorted and possibly make this society a little more structured!

Meet in Teaching Room 3 in the Brynmor Jones Library at 6.30PM on Thursday 29th November 2007.

If you know anybody who is interested in photography.. whether they’re good, or whether they’ve never picked up a camera but would love to learn, bring them along to join!

Again, thank you from myself and Dan for those who have put the effort into this brand new society from day one and made it work so far!
